Free Christmas Audiobooks for Kids

Do you use audiobooks in your homeschool? We do! And while we enjoy homeschooling year-round with our favorite curriculum, we do take a break at Christmas. And I always look for free Christmas audiobooks for kids.

They keep my crew in the holiday spirit as we bake, do Christmas coloring sheets, make Christmas toilet paper roll Santas, and enjoy our simple Christmas holiday traditions.

4 Places for Free Christmas Audiobooks for Children

Here are a few places I turn to when I’m searching for Christmas audiobooks for children.

My Local Library

We love the library. As part of our regular homeschool routine, we usually visit the library once per week. We sign out boatloads of books. Even though I love technology, I love paper too.

That said, we also enjoy access to our digital books through the library. So when I discovered I could sign out free digital Christmas audiobooks for kids through the Overdrive platform and Libby app, I was thrilled. I installed both apps on my iPhone and signed out How The Grinch Stole Christmas.

Check your local library’s website to see if they offer digital audiobooks. Then look for the directions on how to sign up through Overdrive and/or Libby to access your library’s digital audiobooks for kids selections.

Our library has instructions right on their website. Plus we have the option to download the audiobooks or stream them.

Libriovox

I discovered Libriovox about five years ago when I was looking for Uncle Wiggily stories.

Libriovox offers visitors the opportunity to read or listen to books that are in the public domain. So you’ll find the classics and great works of literature. And also older books for children, many from the late 1800s to the 1930s.

This year we’re some of the free Christmas audiobooks for kids we’re enjoying include Camp-fire Girls in the Alleghany Mountains and The Children’s Book of Christmas Stories.

Libriovox give listeners the option to download Christmas audiobooks for kids or to stream them.

Loyal Books

Like Libriovox, Loyal Books offers many free audiobook titles for children. Recently we enjoyed A Christmas Carol, as well as The Christmas Angel, a delightful story from 1910.

One thing I really like about Loyal Books is that you have a choice. Either listen online, download chapters, save through iTunes or save to your iPhone as an MP4 audiobook.

Audible by Amazon

Probably the most well-known source of free Christmas audiobooks for children, Audible by Amazon has a ton of great audiobooks. Even better? You can sign up for a 30-day free trial membership and download a free Christmas children’s audiobook immediately. Plus, you get the option to listen to unlimited Amazon originals, audiobooks, and podcasts.

Just remember to cancel your membership before the 30 day trial period ends!
