So, not all of my kids are math lovers like me. And that’s okay. However, one of my favorite parts of our homeschool day is finding a new, fun worksheet for my middle school children to try. Years ago, I had no issue finding fun printables for 1st grade math. Even second grade was pretty decent.

When my kids were small, we did Christmas math color-by-number sheets. When the weather warmed up, I had a list of summer math activities to complete.

Now that I’m homeschooling older children, aged 10 and 13, making math a fun family activity is a bit trickier. Schooling tweens is a bit trickier overall.

I watch for fun STEM activities and easy crafts with a math angle. No pun intended. 🙂 Those hands-on activities make a nice change from the pages of word problems that turn so many kids away from math.

What is Pi?

According to the definition in Scientific American, Pi is a unique irrational number, which we often round up to 3.14. The number pi is crucial in mathematics, especially when dealing with circles. It represents the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. In other words, it helps us understand the relationship between a circle’s diameter and circumference.

This essential geometry concept can be tricky for some learners to understand. That’s why I use these fun free pi day printables.
